He developed a new technic; the yoga of laughter, which combine with deep breathes, stretches, and fun exercises that simulate laughter in order to improve your health and your general well-being. The benefits are felt immediately after the first session. It’s a practice that is easy and fun while being an excellent cardio vascular exercise.

Scientific Proof

Scientists are convinced of the pre-emptive and therapeutic effects of laughter. Intensive research has shown that laughter has a positive impact on many body systems.

  • • American journalist Normand Cousin (the precursor of all these researches) wrote the book “La Volonté de rire” (The will to laugh), in which he explains how he miraculously recovered from ankylosing spondylitis by laughing.
  • • Dr. William Fries has shown one minute of laughter equals to twenty five (25) minutes of rowing. Therefore it is an excellent form of aerobic exercise. Dr. Henri Rubinstein, author of “Psychosomatique du rire” estimates that one minute of laughter equals to forty five (45) minutes of relaxation.
  • • Dr. Lee S. Berk, following numerous studies on patients having various cardio vascular problems proved that laughter diminishes stress that causes heart attacks, it also diminishes arrhythmia as well as building up certain anti-bodies.

The body do not see the difference between a real laugh and a simulated one.

Laughter activates many systems

BRAIN

Laughter diminishes stress hormones (adrenaline and cortisol) as well as elevated carbon gasses in our blood. It increases the production of serotonin, which helps reduce headaches and acts as a natural painkiller.

DIMINISHES ALLEVIATES PAIN: Increases the production of endorphins, it acts as an anesthetic, gives a sensation of well-being and provides the feeling of euphoria that influences stress, pain, and depression, it allows for a clear mind. They work on the same receptors as the ones morphine effects. Catecholamine’s also stimulates our attention, our intellectual capacities and our speed at executing tasks.

CIRCULATORY: The circulatory system regenerated by blood circulation, laughter activates the send-off of blood towards vital organs that are filling with CO2 (Carbon dioxide) and flows back towards the lungs. Organs move fluids and assure the transport and exchange of internal resources’ such as nutriments and oxygen towards the cells, which gives us a radiant glow.

DIGESTIVE: Thanks to the expansion of the diaphragm, laughter provokes an internal massage of the organs, the liver, spleen, of the pancreas, which facilitates intestinal movement. Laughter dilates the spleen.

IMMUNE SYSTEM: It Strengthens the immune system, awakens the body’s defenses, liberates substances (antibodies) and lymphocytes (white blood cells), and interacts with the cells who fight against bacterial and viral infections. Allows the increase of antibodies, catecholamine allowing the fight of diseases.

MUSCULAR:   Contraction of the muscles of throat and stomach muscles. When a muscle contracts, another relaxes, if they are in function they extend, shorten, and return to their normal state of relaxation. Works on the skeletal system, helps the muscles produce the necessary force for movement. Enables the work of facial muscles, the small and large zygomatique muscles. It also works on the eyelids, which helps you look younger.

RESPIRATORY: More oxygen is brought towards the cells, the lungs breathe better, they generate a larger expulsion of waste and enables the emission of mucous membranes and of the respiratory airways..

Laughter is health, it’s so simple and natural.

We provide ourselves with our own well-being by laughing. The laughter workshop is a revolutionary, simple, accessible, and efficient method that acts as medicine for the body and spirit. It helps bring us back to the present moment. Who doesn’t love laughing?
